Buffolo, Basha Added to Besilu Stables Staff

Fabricio Buffolo and Jacquie Basha have joined the staff of Basilu Stables, founder and president Benjamin Leon Jr. announced Dec. 12.

Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Buffolo is a graduate of the Darley Flying Start class of 2003 and served as a bloodstock assistant to Darley’s John Ferguson and as a member of Darley’s nominations team near Lexington. As bloodstock manager for Besilu Stables, Buffolo will be involved in operational, breeding, and bloodstock decisions, including racing and sales.

Buffolo attended veterinary school at the Universidad Paulista Brazil and has also worked in England and the United Arab Emirates.  

“I am pleased to have both Fabricio and Jacquie join our team at Besilu Stables,” Leon said. “They both share my passion for horses and my vision to build an operation with high quality horses and top pedigrees, while taking a business approach to expand Besilu at a reasonable pace, with reachable goals and excellent end results.”

Buffolo will be based primarily in Ocala, while Basha will divide her time between  Miami, Ocala, and Saratoga Springs.
